Why was world war 2 like no other war?

It was a tragedy like no other. So many people died and everyone was involved. It will be the worst war ever known to man.

Planes, submarines, and battleships were used. Many soldiers were equipped with revolutionary weapons such as submachine guns. It was one of the most large scale wars the world has ever seen.
