In a 1993 Chevrolet lumina apv what could the popping noise be that you hear sometimes while driving and pulling off from a stop?

the engine is mounted on a rather square cradle, which in turn is mounted to the car body by 4 large bushing/bolt combos which wear out, and cause a creak or pop. the problem could also be because the body mounts at the cradle have rusted out, which can only be solved by welding and/or plating. i know, bwecause I've had to do my 1990 that way.
