It definitely depended on the type of dinosaur. Herbivores, like Triceratops and Apatosaurus would have constantly grazed on plants during their waking hours, probably like modern cows or elephants. I would assume large carnivores like T-rex would have eaten a tremendous amount of meat every few days, similar to large carnivores today, such as lions. Smaller carnivores, like Coelophysis, probably constantly hunted for small prey, and eat several "snacks" each day.
