Why volcanoes are found at the edges of earth?

Volcanoes are typically found at the edges of tectonic plates, where the Earth's crust is either converging or diverging. At convergent boundaries, one plate is forced beneath another, melting into magma that can rise to the surface, forming volcanoes. At divergent boundaries, tectonic plates pull apart, allowing magma to escape and create new volcanic islands or ridges.
