Federal prosecutors usually have the title of Assistant United States Attorney. They are paid based on the GS level pay scale, starting at GS-11. The 2009 GS-11 starting salary is $49,544. The maximum GS level is GS-15 and the maximum 2009 salary for that level is $127,604. These numbers do not include locality pay that gives cost of living adjustments to attorneys assigned to high cost of living areas.
