Should a gunite pool be drained in the northeast US?

You can drain them as long as you are sure there is no water underneath because if there is the pool will start to float in it if you dont have a hydrostatic valve in it, and if it does that its buggered. This rule apleis any where in the world, exept posibly in areas where there is permafrost.
