How do you beat barubary in breath of fire 2?

He is actually relatively easy. My party for the fight was Rand, Bow, Ryu and Bleu. There are of course many variations for this but I suggest you have either Rand or Bow because of their healing abilities. Bleu, Nina or Spar are also nice because of their Missile attack. Have Ryu cast G.Dragon and two party members healing while the third is constantly giving Ryu WiseBLs. Keep casting G.Dragon and Barubary will give you the chance to fight him 1v1. I don't recommend that course of action - its a lot easier with your whole party helping :).
