What kind of food do cardinals eat?

The adults eat insects, wild fruit, Spiders, berries, and seeds from weeds. If you are looking for something to put in a feeder to attract them, they LOVE black-oil sunflowers seeds. I also have found they like suet.

Cardinals are very territorial in their feeding habits. It helps to put a feeder on each side of the house, that way the house acts as a block to the other feeding area.
