Emperor Yongle, also known as the Yongle Emperor, was the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty in China, reigning from 1402 to 1424. He is best known for his ambitious projects, including the relocation of the capital from Nanjing to Beijing and the construction of the Forbidden City. Yongle also sponsored the voyages of the explorer Zheng He and commissioned the Yongle Encyclopedia, one of the largest encyclopedias of its time. His reign is often seen as a period of cultural flourishing and expansion of Chinese influence.
