How long does it take to get over a miscarriage?

Physically most women get over them within a few days/weeks. I have had 2, one at 7 weeks and one at 10. In both instances, my period came back the next month, and I felt fine within a week. However, the emotional part of it is much more complicated. I've begun to discover that grief isn't something we should expect to get beyond. It's better, for me at least, to think of it as someone I'm trying to make friends with. It has been 3 months since my last miscarriage and I still have frequent moments where it feels like my soul has been sucked out. I am trying to respect and learn from that feeling so that I can use it to help other people who are in pain. Keeping it in this perspective helps me not to sink so low that I just want to die. I hear from other people who have been through this that it gets easier, particularly after you have a baby, but you never stop thinking about it.
