What is the Bermuda triangle's biggest mystery?

According to reporters, too many airmen and ships have gone missing in the area to be mere *accidents or operator errors, weather causes". etc. and that something deeper is involved.

It seems that the real mystery is why people fall for this. Given the weather and traffic, the number of vanishings is about what you'd expect. A lot of them never actually happened, many happened in horrible storms reporters won't tell you about, some are known not to have happened in the Triangle... and others are not known to have happened in the Triangle. If a ship fails to turn up on the other side of the planet Earth, someone will claim it vanished in the Triangle.
