What is linear Potentiometer?

A linear potentiometer is a potentiometer that changes linearly with rotation of the knob. A 30% degree turn will change the resistance 30%. It's a direct relationship.

This is in contrast to log potentiometers, which change resistance logarithmically with turns in the knob.
