How many lines should be there for an essay?

Essays are not confined to "lines" such as is poetry. Here's a brief framework though:

An essay is generally considered to be a minimum of five paragraphs, and five sentences per paragraph. That makes a minimum of twenty-five sentences. keep in mind this is a jumping off point and a general framework. What you do with it is your own style, your voice.
