How do you remove the glove box lock assembly from a 1971 Chevelle without the key?

If no key, you'll have to destroy the cardboard glove box and to access the lock bracket....remove the upper bracket that the lock grabs onto located at the mid-top of the opening...may need to do a little prying....or remove the lock from the backside.
