To which direction did Hitler look when he decided Germany needed more lebensraum living space?

Hitler's plan was to take over Germany, which he basically succeeded in, and then expend Germany into Russia, so that his country would be twice as big. Afterwards, he was going to expand Russia and Germany into Poland, so to add more land again...In the end he thought that he could take over the entire world...which he obviously did not succeed in, that crazy bastard!
