Why do aeroplanes and cars have stremlined body?

They have a streamlined body so that they could travel faster without much drag.

Drag is the force that pulls on a car or airplane to slow its forward movement. If you reduce the drag force, then the car will burn less fuel while traveling the same speed OR it will travel at a faster speed at the same fuel burn.
