Can someone die from eating nails?

it's pretty much common sense that if you come in contact with a deadly virus or deadly chemical and it comes in contact with your blood stream that you have a high chance of dying. this is obviously in reference to stuff like ebola or what not as ebola is considered "something that's deadly". she is saying that if there were some outbreak of some sort of deadly whatever that was out there that you'd have a bigger chance of becoming infected as to someone who doesn't bite their nails because your fingers are your contact to the world and throughout the day you touch a lot of things and a lot of these things that you touch have a lot of germs and what not all over them. when you bite your nails you are pretty much transferring all that crap into your mouth. ifit happens to be some deadly virus, then yes you will die.
